Tiles & Grout

What is the best way to clean the tiles and grout once they have been treated with EnduroShield®?

For best results simply drying the glass with a squeegee will help keep the glass clean and reduce mineral spots from forming. The glass needs to be cleaned every week using a mix of white vinegar (50%) & water. The process should be to spray the cleaning agent onto the surface, then using the magic eraser pad (wet) wipe from side to side and up and down and let sit for 2mins, rinse the glass, and remove excess water with an approved squeegee, dry off the edges with a microfibre cloth or paper towel.
Caution: Avoid using any abrasive and high Ph products on the treated surface, these will damage the protective coating. Only use approved cleaning practices as described above.
EnduroShield recommends only the EnduroShield Professional squeegee, magic eraser pads or microfibre cloths:
THESE PRODUCTS ARE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE FROM YOUR TECHNICIAN OR AT ENDUROSHIELD QUEENSLAND OFFICE.
FAILURE TO ADOPT THE APPROVED CLEANING PRACTICES WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY.
Products that must be avoided are encapsulated by Abrasive compounds, Extreme Alkalis, Extreme Acids and include the below:
Abrasives: Ajax, bleach, toothpaste, baking soda, water spot remover pastes, polishes, cerium oxide, sparkle, bio-clean, Norwex Cloths, steel wool, scrub pads
Extreme Alkalis: with a PH over 12, or anti-fungal solutions containing bleach
Extreme Acids: Strong enough to corrode glass, metal, or ceramic surfaces

Will the coating crack, peel or discolour over time?

No the coating is only 2 molecules thick and is transparent. It will not crack or discolor over time. It is not like a lacquer or varnish.

Does the coating get attacked by chemicals?

Generally no, but the coating can be effected by strong acids and alkali's.

Will the surface become patchy if the coating is worn off in any way?

No. The coating is only two molecules thick and transparent, thus it does not change the appearance of the surface. If an abrasive was to be used, where the coating was worn away would not be visible.

That area would, however, be harder to clean. The unprotected surface can be easily repaired by cleaning and re-spraying with EnduroShield. The molecules will bond directly to the untreated surface.

Do I still need to seal the tiles after I have EnduroShield® applied?

No, the coating not only creates an easy to clean surface, but also a protective barrier to resist staining.

Can I have EnduroShield® applied over tiles that have already been sealed with a product?

No, the product needs to be applied to untreated tiles and grout in order to bond with the surface.

Can EnduroShield® be applied to floor tiles?

Yes, testing has shown that the coating will not make the surface slippery. As the tile is sealed, and protected from water soaking into the surface, the water beads, and the conditions that cause slipperiness are reduced. Abrasion will limit the durability of the coating in high traffic areas.
